One of the MOST asked question.
So let’s talk 🍊,
As a spray tan artist for over 7 years there was a time when tanning was pretty much pick your scale of orange- let’s not lie if you have been tanning a long time there’s a chance you spent some years a pretty strange colour that was due to the spray tan solutions back then - inability to match with skin tones.
Fast forward to now, it’s all changed thankfully spray tanning formula technology is now pretty precise🙏🏻HOWEVER orange tans are still possible and here’s why;
🧡The spray tan artist is using too much product - if you are one of my clients I always say you might be sticky but you should never feel wet - if you do you are over sprayed.
🧡The spray tan artist didn’t have knowledge of colour theory (knowing clients skin undertones, which bronzer base to pair with skin tones to counteract unwanted tones)
🧡You didn’t rinse as advised - if over developed it could risk becoming over saturated
🧡You used dove products - this could give you an orange or green tone! Dove leaves an invisible film and changed the ph of the skin that 8/10 times reacts to tan. So ditch the dove.
So the answer is no, if you do your bit and I do mine you won’t be orange with a spray tan by me 🤎 I customise, colour wheel and check out your skin tones and recommend what I think each client should use - this can change for different events ect too before we pick the solution together. When you say I want to be dark not too dark, light but look like I have a tan I get you but I’m also looking at veins, undertones and how to create that glow you want. 🤩
NO ORANGE here - unless it’s for my panto clients that request that (that’s the exception) 🙌🏻
